Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme

Under the National Social Assistance Program (NSAP) by the Government of India, Rural Development Ministry, Rural Development Department, the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme is being operated with the objective of providing financial support to the widow of the living below the poverty line. The scheme is being implemented and operated by the Government, Social Justice and Disabled People Welfare Department.


The recipient should belong to the below poverty line of the community. The age of the recipient should range between 40-79 years.


The scheme provides widows living below the poverty line a pension of Rs. 300 every month until their death.

How To Apply

Applicants should fill prescribed application form and submit in the rural area of their native place- Gram Panchayat / Janpad Panchaya and in urban area, in the office of Municipal Corporation / Municipality / Nagar Panchayat, three photographs, certificates for confirmation of age, Samagra ID and BPL card. Or apply online through the nearest Public Service Center.
